Spring Ford School District

Small-town charm brimming with local businesses.

Spring-Ford Area School District (SFASD) is located in the western central portion of Montgomery County and in the eastern central section of Chester County. The district is comprised of the Townships of Limerick and Upper Providence and the Boroughs of Royersford and Spring City.

The district is approximately twenty miles northwest of Philadelphia, PA, twenty-five miles south of Reading, Pennsylvania, and five miles north of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The district has a combined land area of 44.4 square miles, and the 2020 US Census population of the district is 50,990, compared to 47,368 in 2010 and 36,483 in 2000.

The growing community of approximately 50,990 straddles the route 422 bypass and offers the best of both a small-town atmosphere and proximity to metropolitan attractions. The district is characterized by small towns, suburban neighborhoods and rural areas. The location offers easy access to the cultural appeal of Philadelphia, as well as the warmth and nurturing feel of suburban America.

SFASD's Surrounding Cities and Towns

The location of the district provides residents with many employment opportunities in neighboring communities and in the major employment centers of the Delaware Valley.

These include the City of Philadelphia (35 minutes), Valley Forge and King of Prussia Industrial Parks (10 minutes), the City of Reading (20 minutes) and the Great Valley Corporate Center (20 minutes).

These facilities provide office space for some 200 industrial concerns, including Verizon, AT&T, Xerox, Prudential Insurance, Honeywell, NCR and IBM.
